Overview And Highlights

The Everest View Trek is an easier, less crowded alternative to an Everest Budget Trek. Our Everest View trek offers an introduction to the Khumbu-Everest region for people who want to trek in Nepal and experience the world of the Sherpa people and view the high peaks from accessible altitudes. Witness breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and a multitude of other peaks along with the serene Khumbu region. Have an authentic experience of the Sherpa culture and mountain lifestyle with the off chance of encountering some exotic Himalayan wildlife.

From the airport at Lukla, local porters will carry your luggage along the trails to centuries old villages. Meet the friendly Sherpas of the Khumbu Region and experience their culture. Prayer flags, chortens, and monasteries bring you into contact with their form of Tibetan Buddhism.

Highlights will include the crossing of glacial rivers on sturdy suspension bridges, walking through terraced farmlands (crops changing with altitude); watching skilled craftsmen at work; and being astounded by the loads carried on the backs of animals and porters.

Photograph dramatic views of snow covered peaks including Thamserku, beautiful Ama Dablam, and more distant (and famous) Everest Base Camp, Lhotse and Nuptse. After five days of walking, you will reach the maximum elevation of 3 860m/12 665ft at Tengboche. This hilltop village offers the best Everest views and is home to the most important monastery in the region. Gokyo Lake Trek offers high scenic views of valley, forests which is located at high altitude which is best for the trekkers.

Best Season for Everest View Trek

The best times of the year to perform the Everest View Trek are during spring (March to May) and autumn (last week in September to mid-December) seasons. During these periods, the weather remains stable and the mountain views are good leading to the best experience. In monsoon, the weather can be unpredictable and the rain can make the trails slippery and perilous.

Everest View Trek Difficulty

This 11 Day Everest View Trek is a moderately strenuous trek that takes you up to altitudes of 3870m (Tengboche). You will be trekking over rocky hills and semi mountainous terrain for most of the trek for an average of 6 hours a day. While previous trekking experience is not a necessity, it will certainly make the trek easier. Good physical fitness and stamina is recommended.

Day to Day Itinerary Expand/Collapse All

Day 1 : Arrival Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport (/4 260ft)

After completing passport, immigration and visa requirements, we will meet you outside the terminal building (look for your name board) and transfer you to your hotel: afternoon free.  Evening: a welcome dinner, introduction to your guide and a briefing on the trek with a check on necessities.  Overnight at hotel.

Elevation 1300

Day 2 : In the City Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing OR A Day at Leisure

Take a day tour to five of the Kathmandu Valley’s cultural world heritage sites: Swayambhunath, the famed “monkey temple;” the city’s historical Durbar Square with ancient temples, unique art, architecture, and the chance to see the Kumari (living goddess); Patan’s Durbar Square (a good place for lunch); the Hindu temple Pashupatinath and Bouddhanath, the world’s largest stupa.

A car and driver will take you to each site-entrance and wait for you. (Entry tickets and lunch are not included.)

Day 3 : Kathmandu – Lukla (8 670ft) – Phakding (2 560m/8 400ft), 35 min flight, 3-4 hrs trek

After breakfast, drive to the Domestic Airport for the flight to Lukla in the Khumbu region – south of Everest. Meet your local porters and begin the discovery by trekking into the Dudh Koshi Valley through pine forest: to Cheplung (2 700m) and Ghat (2 530m). Another hour’s walk takes you to Phakding. Overnight in Phakding

Elevation 2640

Day 4 : Phakding – Namche Bazaar (3 440m/11 290ft), 5-6 hrs

Continue through pine forests along the Dudh Koshi, crossing tributaries, to the Sherpa villages of Benkar (2 710m), Chumoa (2 820m), Monjo (2 840m) and Jorsale (2 830m). This is the gateway and permit checkpoint to the Sagarmatha National Park. Thamserku (6 618m) glistens east of the village. Follow the river to its confluence with the Bhote Koshi: the major rivers draining the Khumbu District. Climb steadily, crossing the high Tenzing- Hilary Bridge, to the first glimpses of Everest and the Nuptse-Lhotse ridge. A further 3 hr orested climb leads to the region’s administrative and trade centre at Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 5 : Namche Bazaar: Acclimatization and exploration day

This is a scheduled acclimatization day. Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) experts recommend at least a 24 hr rest period. Keep active: climb high and sleep low is the acclimatisation advice.

Only Namche offers ATMs, cyber cafés, restaurants and bakeries, plus a colourful market each Friday evening and Saturday morning. The Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park Visitor’s Centre has informative displays on Sherpa culture, local flora and fauna.

The village of Khumjung (3 780m) will present a more traditional view of Sherpa life than Namche. Spend a morning walking up to the village. A circular trail is possible. At very least, visit the closer Everest View Hotel (3 880m).

Day 6 : Namche Bazaar – Phortse (12 500ft), 5-6 hrs

From the top of Namche, the trail contours around a hill to Sanasa (3 600m), and a trail fork: NW to Gokyo, NE to Everest. Look for Himalayan tahrs on high ground, shy spotted deer, and birds – including the colourful (male) national bird: the Danphe pheasant. Turn NW along the slopes of Khumbila (5 761m) into the Dudh Khosi Valley and head up to Mong La (3 975m, with a central chorten). Descend to Phortse Thenga (3 680m) through pine and rhododendron forest and shortly after the hamlet, take the right fork in the trail; drop to cross the Dudh Koshi and then climb steeply, passed walled terraces to Phortse. Overnight in Phortse.

Elevation 3810

Day 7 : Phortse – Tengboche (3 870m/12 700ft), 4-5 hrs

A shorter day, begins with a short stiff climb to a ridge; a traverse along the ridge and then a downward trail, through rhododendron and dwarf conifer forest, into the Imja Khola Valley. Cross the Imja Khola that rises from the vast glacier fields surrounding Imja Tse (6 189m, Island Peak: a popular trekking Peak to the east). The trail then ascends through forest to the hilltop village of Tengboche: where a warm welcome awaits you.

There are good views from all around the village: including a clear view of the Everest group.

There is an important monastery that is well worth visiting. At October’s full moon the colourful, Mani Rimdu festival is held; with Tibetan Opera and masked dancing. Overnight in Tengboche.

Day 8 : Tengboche – Namche Bazaar (11 290ft) – Monjo (2 800m/9 450ft), 5-6 hrs.

The trail back to Namche Bazaar is more direct than on the outward trek. A long descent through lush rhododendron and juniper forest drops to cross the Dudh Koshi at Phunki Thenga (3 250m, the lowest point north of Namche). The trail then climbs back to the fork at Sanasa. Follow the trail that contours back to Namche Bazaar for lunch.  Descend into the greener valley and Jorsale (2 830m). Exit the National Park and walk down to Monjo; at a more comfortable altitude. Overnight at Monjo.

Elevation 3440

Day 9 : Monjo – Lukla (8 670ft), 4-5 hrs

Follow the Dudh Koshi, through the farming villages to Phakding (2 610m). Cross the suspension bridge at Thado Koshi then walk to Cheplung (2 700m). Descend and then climb steeply back to Lukla: where your porters will take their leave. Overnight in Lukla.

Elevation 2640

Day 10 : Lukla – Kathmandu (1 300m/4 260ft), 35 min flight

After an early breakfast, take the return flight to Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel for a free afternoon.

Day 11 : Final Departure

Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight to your next destination.

About one year ago i was contacting with Badri Pant. I saw him on Youtube and i make contact in the mail. Very directly i was in contact with him. I want to know everything about the trips they offer. This is a dream for me and i really want it to be perfect. So... Badri and I did mail so very much. He gives me al the answers i needed. No quention was to much for him. He give me a feeling that i can trust him. I was really scared because i was not trained that good. He sad to me that we will have time, and we take it very slowly. So Badri did make a perfect trip for me and I booked my ticket to Kathmandu. When i was on the airport 21 april 2017 Badri was there. He bring me to a very nice hotel in Thamel. The day after we did fly to Lukla. Badri has many years of experience. He knows everything in the mountains. He knows every stone. That was so nice, because I now everything about it to! Badri was with me and my friend al the time. He bring uss to the most nicest and cleanest Tea houses. He gives us very very nice food. He gives uss water al te time, and he was taking care of us. I was very scared for the AMS. When my friends gets a little sick he was very proffesional. Badri knows wthat to do and he did help my friend very good. So the next morning he feel very good and we continue the trip. In the walks there where very difficult points. Badri was very relaxed. He gives me the feeling that i dont have to rush and that there was enough time. Every day he was talking with uss about the trip. Where we go the next morning, about the weather and everything. He is very proffesional and he did everything to give us a good feeling. We made it till base camp and back. The way back i want to change the route. Because i was a little tired. That was no problem for Badri. He did everything to give me a good feeling. It was no problem to change some tea houses and Badri was manage everything. I travel a lot and this was really the best trip i ever make. And that is because i did my trip with a very proffesional company. We did see the most beautiful places in the Himalaya and it really catch my breath all the time.EVEREST is so amazing. It was so special. Also we had one day left in Kathmandu. Landmark Discovery treks offers uss a free driver to give uss a Sight seeing tour. That was a great last day. We did see a lot of nice tempels and also we see cultural stuff. This end of the holiday was make it completed. Badri bring us back to the airport. We didnt have to do anything. He did everything for us. I am so happy i met Badri. Without him i could not have such a great trip. So if you want to go to nepal, and you want it to be perfect. I really recommend this company. You can trust them and you know what you get. Landmark Discovery Treks. Thanks for everything and i hope i will see you again on my next adventure.

Everest View Trek 11days.

made a quick booking of my trip a month and a half before with Prem and he managed to arrange everything including the domestic flight to lukla.

I have to stress that you need to train for the treks whichever one you choose. I only did my training hiking up and down the local trails after i made my booking. Also walked up to my 12th floor apartment at least 3 times a week. Even with that, i was still out of breath but Prem made my treks easier by helping me to pace, slowly but surely. He ensured that he was with me all the time. Thanks Prem!

Everything was arranged well from the hotel in kathmandu to the wonderful teahouses along the trekking route. There was a slightly longer route that wasnt included in the package which Prem highly recommended. I was glad I took it coz the views were amazing although I was hesitant at first coz i had to trek more.

Take your time, stop and savor the view, take your pictures. Its the journey that counts and not the destination!
